21.5.16 01:49 OK, one more insight into my fascinating life. Thursday night at Costco I picked up a Costco-sized batch of new 9 volt batteries. JUST NOW one of the smoke detectors upstairs started issuing the "hey my old 9 volt battery is dying, don't you wish you had a fresh one? OH BUT YOU DO HAVE A FRESH ONE" beep...which usually is more of a "hey, idiot, you're out of 9 volt batteries, why not take this one out, disable me and then don't be surprised when your house burns down with you in it" beep... Was it mere COINCIDENCE that I bought the batteries just in time? NEVER!

Although...having heard a completely DIFFERENT malfunctioning smoke alarm in some other building mere hours earlier MAY have triggered my brain to remember to pick up new batteries in the first place... I dunno. My brain's funny sometimes.
