21.5.16 01:19 I'd been meaning to check out that new Affinity Credit Union for a while, thinking I might finally have a new way to deposit a cheque into MY (based in Modesto) credit union account without having to drive to, say, the Har Mar Mall outer rim to the Genisys credit union - plus, it's a good walk for me. I was delighted to see that their ATM was one of them new-fangled "feed us the cheque and we'll automagically scan it" deals, then much less delighted to see the cheque get spit back to me with a "no, no deposits here using YOUR network, dummy" message, then delighted again to find a crumpled up $20 bill on the ground nearby for my troubles. I'm not sure I should take this as a sign that it's a reward for another 1½ miles on my personal odometer or a sign that I shouldn't have already placed $20 in bets on Nyquist or a sign that I hadn't shared a longish status with you for a while or maybe all of the above. And I'll be back in Roseville on Monday, anyway, I guess.
