 |  | #tbt Here I am posing proudly with Pikachuu, my first "new" car: a 2001 Volkswagen New Beetle Turbo Sport (check out them rims!) which replaced my dead 1963 Beetle. Unfortunately, I submerged it on Main St SE after a flash flood which happened on the night of my second wedding anniversary. A couple months later I had Pikatuu, a 2006 New Beetle which wasn't a Turbo and did NOT have the Sport package, but which I still drive to this day. They both have been guarded by a robustly sized stuffed Pikachu which has always gotten points and smiles from children - and the occasional cel photo from Instagramming ladies at stoplights - but this past week has seen a lot more interest in my stuffed companion than usual. This is usually where I'd give you a photo of the electric mouse, but after I went looking, this was the one I found - the car was so new he hadn't come to live in it yet. Someone later snipped me out of this photo and turned it into an animated GIF of me dancing a jig - good luck finding THAT one. (c. end of May 2001) |
