DATELINE: UPTOWN - I almost hate to share this with you, but I think it's important and I want you all to be careful. Tonight around 0430 I was dropping off Moon at her apartment after the after party, when I noticed a man coming up on us pretty quickly on foot from behind. He ended up at my driver's side window asking me to roll it down. I asked him what for thinking he wanted money or something, and he said he wanted to kill us. I was really pretty much in disbelief and wanted to learn more, but Moon pretty wisely told me I should drive off immediately and not engage him further. He didn't show any weapons but he was attempting to remove his hoodie (although I have no idea for what purpose) but rather than see if he wanted to try to throw hands and break all my windows, I did drive off after telling him "well, you have a good night now." We did a long lap around Lyndale and I dropped her off at the back door of her building where she entered without incident. I was never in fear for us - whether that was just me being old and stupid or sane and rational, I'm not totally sure. I'm really glad I told Moon to hang on and not leave the car while we waited to see what was up, though. It's just not something you expect that time of night. I guess I should add that he was young and white, if you care about that. I probably also should have taken a photo of him but again, we weren't really prepared for that to happen. Just...I have a few friends in that hood and you don't need ME to say "stay vigilant" but it would kill me if anything happened to you. Love you guys. Good night.
