Mixcloud does little "previews" when you hover over the play button on any particuar show - because this is the "I" show, you get a nice bit of me talking, some Billy Idol, some Imagination, me talking again, and... like, the PERFECT bit of INXS. So this time I'm saying, don't just immediately start playing the show - check out that preview BEFORE hitting "Play!" (Best part is one of the tracks that DIDN'T make the preview....you'll never see it coming and it may leave you speechless. Hey, is THAT clickbait-y enough to get you to listen?)

Back when going to shows was a thing, Krista Wax went to even more of them than I did - but we'd be at the SAME shows quite a bit! She's been in this time slot for exactly one year and I have a spreadsheet to prove it. Because there are no coincidences, the last person to broadcast this time slot was ALSO me as I wrapped up my After Midnight on KFAI mini-residency 54 weeks ago tonight! It has been brought to our attention that last week; some of our staff members came into contact with the staff member of another bar, whom has since tested positive for Coronavirus. As a preventative measure we are going to close down while all staff members are tested.
At this time we have no reason to suspect that any staff or guests were exposed, but we won't know the extent of any potential exposure until we see the test results. After this round of testing is completed we will make an announcement for a reopening date, or if needed we will follow MN Dept of Health, and CDCs contact tracing protocols. We will post any new information as it comes in.
Please do what you can to stay safe, and look after one another. We are all in this together, and together we will make it through this. |

 |  | (Shared from Mortimers) Hello everyone. Jasha here. We just got our initial round of test results back: Alex, Billy and Jakob- no detection. Me- Covid detected! I know, crazy right! It just got very real over here. I last bartended Sunday 3-8, bar-backed Friday 10pm- 2am and Thursday 4-8:30. I also bartended Wednesday 3-8. As all of you know who watch me work, I am an adamant hand washer and mask wearer. I don’t know if I contracted it at work or elsewhere and I hopefully did not spread it from work as I have worked under the assumption that it was always a possibility to have and was careful not to potentially spread it. We will contact everyone legible on the contact list and inform them (hopefully numbers and emails are legit). We will stay closed until we figure out a safe plan to move forward (hopefully sooner than later). I will work remotely until I am cleared by health professionals to come back. Until then, I will quarantine with Carrie, Levi and Rose and get to know my cats better. We will stay in touch and keep you posted. Thank you for all the support all of you have shown thus far and I look forward to seeing everyone as soon as I beat this thing. FYI I feel good physically with no symptoms and thanks again to the initial person that called in which lead to us getting tested. Please be careful |

| I'm so happy to announce that I have passed the audition and have now been added to the KFAI schedule! My show is called "Weekend on Demand" - new new music and YOUR requests every Saturday from 5PM to 7PM (Central)! My stretch goal is to have the most interactive show on the station...well, maybe second most interactive after "AM Drive" - built largely around playing as many requests as I can. With any luck, I'll be able to find order amongst the chaos of throwing it wide open to anybody ambitious enough to ask me to play something on the air, with a renewed push towards stuff you're just not gonna hear on any other radio station in the Cities - or possibly the universe. Failing that, I'll just try to play the new Jamie xx 7" mix before anybody else does. Please feel free to find and follow/Like the show's new social presence @KFAIWeekend (here, Twitter, Insta) and engage with us any time the mood strikes you! If you can't tune in or stream live, shows will be available on demand for 14 days after broadcast - in fact, you can still hear my tryout/pilot shows from the 4th and the 11th!
