And, yes, after all that a factory reset didn't fix my phone - I'm off to the T-Mo store to remind them that I'm still in my 12 month warranty and be thankful it decided to die now instead of three weeks from now. Hopefully I just get a new S6 and avoid any pressure to "why not just upgrade and get an S7 while you're here" - then it'll probably be ANOTHER 8½ hours to restore from the backup. But...let's see if I can get the replacement phone first and not get ahead of meself...
