| | Two years ago, I started a little ol' show on Fresh Air and today....well, it's still a pretty little show but it DOES have a rather dedicated audience who help me program two hours of radio every Saturday afternoon. This week, we're asking not only for requests but for a couple coins in our tip jar to help improve the online experience for all our audiences for all our programs. If you've ever listened to my show - or perhaps even enjoyed it! - would you consider stepping up with a few bucks? Visit KFAI.org for the online form or I'll even do one of those awful "give Facebook all your financial info" fundraisers in the comments. If you are disinclined to provide financial support for whatever reason, perhaps you could tell a friend about KFAI Weekend on Demand instead? Tomorrow's show has been pretaped as I am still on personal lockdown but I can tell you it's chock full of new new music and your requests, just like always! And it will have the added wrinkle o! f me listening to myself in real time starting at 5PM!
(Shared from Christopher) I'm so happy to announce that I have passed the audition and have now been added to the KFAI schedule! My show is called "Weekend on Demand" - new new music and YOUR requests every Saturday from 5PM to 7PM (Central)! My stretch goal is to have the most interactive show on the station...well, maybe second most interactive after "AM Drive" - built largely around playing as many requests as I can. With any luck, I'll be able to find order amongst the chaos of throwing it wide open to anybody ambitious enough to ask me to play something on the air, with a renewed push towards stuff you're just not gonna hear on any other radio station in the Cities - or possibly the universe. Failing that, I'll just try to play the new Jamie xx 7" mix before anybody else does. Please feel free to find and follow/Like the show's new social presence @KFAIWeekend (here, Twitter, Insta) and engage with us any time the mood strikes you! If you can't tune in or stream live, shows wil! l be available on demand for 14 days after broadcast - in fact, you can still hear my tryout/pilot shows from the 4th and the 11th! And I think they're really good! Doing live radio has been a dream of mine since I was a wee babe and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to present this show...and in these uncertain times, having something to look forward to and get excited about is a real life saver! |
