26.7.15 00:07 When we last talked on the Internet, I revealed that I had a swingin' Friday night shopping at both Costco AND Walmart for socks and briefs. Tonight, the ripple effects continue - I face an existential crisis for which I'm hoping that you, my Facebook friends, can help guide me to the other side.

The lack of availability of Kirkland brand underwear must have flustered me even more than I thought, because today when I revisited the socks that I DID buy, I discovered that in an effort to wade through boxes of 90% extra large size 14-16 (for shoe sizes 13-15)" to find my size for purchase, I ended up NOT buying six pair of size 10-13 Puma "low cut" socks but rather six pair of size 10-13 Puma "No Show" socks.

(This realisation was delayed due to the extended decision-making process at Walmart last night, which easily overshadowed everything else. For heaven's sake, I go to Walmart so I only have ONE choice and don't have to think about it! Anyway, if you've read this far and missed my Instagram which would have made this parenthetica make more sense...it's still not too late to pull out of this entire story!)

Now, I know it's 2015 and the kids these days are all about showing off their mankles, but these socks seem a little EXTREME! for a guy who'd usually keep his shins covered to the knee up until a couple of years ago.

On the OTHER hand, I've been doing a lot of walking and I'm sure the results are worth showing off...and, who knows, maybe flashing a little ankle is just the thing to attract the ladies, by drawing the eyes away from my face...

The two choices I'm considering are:

1. Drive back to the Maplewood Costco and assume I'll be able to dig through the boxes of giant socks to find some low cuts, then return THESE socks. (Driving to the St. Louis Park Costco isn't an option I'm considering until 394 construction is done.)

2. Just accept these socks, throw them into the rotation and see how I like 'em, letting the experience color future purchases of socks (assuming some time in 2017)

Like you, I can't believe I'm up to almost 400 words about this, but beyond being incredulous about THAT, can you offer me any other advice?
