| Well, my old pal is gone. I'm glad I had the chance to make him see this shirt before he left.
I had originally said that if the Wolves did ANY deal to trade Love instead of making him stick around and dare him to leave thirty million on the table, I'd cancel my season tickets. I have since softened on that stance and consider this the best bad trades out of all the bad trades that had been rumoured. I buy the Wiggins hype and think he eventually could make us forget about Love...but it won't be this season, and may not be next season. Fortunately, he's locked down for five years.
The Wolves now have 15 men on the roster and no spot for Glenn Robinson III. I think they may still try to move Barea, but if they don't, GR3 will have a hell of a D-League season.
With Wiggins, Bennett, LaVine, Muhammad and Dieng (oh and now veterans Mo Williams and Young), we've got a mostly young core for Ricky Rubio to step up and lead. (Also, I look forward to Ricky talking some trash about Kevin real soon now.) Hopefully THIS is the season we don't lose Pekovic and Turiaf to injury for any prolonged periods of time.
Kim's probably more sad about losing Shved than Love. I will miss LMM more than I miss Shved but I bet he will have a much more positive role with Embiid than he had with the entire Wolves roster.
Love (42) jerseys will be quickly reconfigured to Bennett jerseys (24), I'm sure.
I hope Love and LeBron quickly find out they hate each other and LeBron opts out after a season, but not until Love commits to five more years as a Cav, because Cleveland is surely a much better destination than Minneapolis when you're the only star on the team.
I hope Pekovic has learned a hard lesson about friendship and uses it when the Wolves are playing the Cavs this season.
