I waited to share them with Andy and Trippz - all of us only wanted a few at a time so they WERE "flamin' hot." Past that, they were strangely true to their Doritos nachos and true ranch underpinnings - which I guess should have been expected because after all it WAS Doritos putting it together? Anyway, I would say the combos were interesting but not really improvements on the ol' faithful. Strange for a bag of chips, when we left Andy's last week there were leftovers. I'm sure Andy polished them off in the intervening week. (Not pictured: "retro" bags of original nacho cheese and cool ranch Doritos from my childhood which ARE BACK!) |

I bought a Blu-ray player! Of course, we own zero Blu-ray discs, and I chose this model because it has the ability to connect to our Wi-Fi, so PROBABLY I've really just overpayed for a streaming device. Still, it feels good to join this decade. |

| Interim chief gives typically obtuse press conference as our strong mayor stands by silent, local media mostly dutifully parrot (I will credit KARE's Chris Hrapsky for digging deeper and sharing the comments of several skeptical neighbors living on the same floor as the apartment where Amir Locke was shot who were puzzled as to why they heard nothing), no body cam footage provided when you know anything that might exonerate them can't find its way into the media's hands for dissemination fast enough...then right after the initial news cycle is over, we hear another side which, shockingly, doesn't line up with the MPD account of what happened. This was what "won" in Minneapolis in 2021 AND a too large portion of this city will be totally fine with it. Well, I'm not. Amir Locke was senselessly MURDERED as a result of the MPD/SWAT bungling their warrant in concert with a past and current culture of fear, "us vs. them" and shooting first, especially when faced with a person of color. Locke's MURDERER should be arrested, tried and held accountable. Statements from MPD should never be initially taken as truthful on their face - surely we'd have learned that from their slant on George Floyd's death, but how many more examples do you need? Haven't there been too many already? |

Here's some Canadian Crush, birch beer style. It's red and it's like if Crush made root beer, tasty enough but 300 calories for a 20oz - sorry, 591ml - bottle is even more insane than those weird Mtn Dews I've been having and THIS one doesn't even have the benefit of a mountain of caffeine added to it. But yes, it's tasty. But also I'll stick with domestic A&W Zero Sugar when I'm in a birch/root beer mood. (ALSO also because I haven't seen a single Diet Barq's since the pandemic shortages started.) |
